Why I Am Starting Over In My 40s -- But Not From Scratch

wellness

There’s something wild about hitting your 40s.

It’s the decade where you finally realize you don’t have time for half-hearted living. Where the "someday" goals start tapping you on the shoulder saying, “Hey girl, you in or out?” It’s the decade where you’re balancing more than ever—family, business, hormones, laundry mountains—and still trying to carve out space for your own damn self.

And that’s exactly why the Grit + Glow exists.

This isn’t another glow-up challenge built on aesthetic goals, quick fixes, or celery juice. No. This is about digging into what it really takes to thrive in your 40s.
It’s about strength—mental, emotional, physical.
It’s about showing up for yourself with the same energy you show up for everyone else.
It’s about building confidence that doesn't crumble.

It's about focusing on what truly matters - longevity.

So, welcome to Week One: Setting the Stage.

Right now, I’m not chasing perfection—I’m chasing alignment. I want my habits to match the woman I see in my mind. And truthfully? That vision has been getting louder lately.

I’ve been carrying a little frustration with me these past few months. From the outside, things probably look “together.” But I’ve felt stuck. Out of sync with my routines. Off-track with my energy. And I knew that if I didn’t create some structure—some purpose—I’d keep floating in that limbo.

So here I am. Week one. Starting over, but not from scratch.

This journey is personal. Not because I want to lose weight or hit a number, but because I want to feel the way I know I’m meant to feel in this season of life:

Strong. Clear. Energized. Proud.

And yes, there are fears. I’ve got days where I question if I can hold it all together—business, homeschooling, training, motherhood, wellness.

But I also know this: I’ve done hard things before. And I’m more prepared now than I’ve ever been.

So for Week 1, here’s what I’m focusing on:

  • Honoring my non-negotiables: movement, hydration, nourishment, sleep, and mindset.

  • Cleaning up the mental clutter and rewriting the internal dialogue that’s been a little too loud lately.

  • Showing up, not with pressure—but with purpose.

This isn’t a sprint. It’s a layered, sustainable process of growth. And each week, I’ll be sharing the behind-the-scenes of what’s working, what’s shifting, and what it actually looks like to glow up in your 40s without the BS.

So if you’re here for the long game, for the grit and not just the glow—I’m glad you’re here.

Let’s build something strong, together.
